Message	opening in the center, he theorized that with the dual pop set-up on the Z hanging so far down, the intake was in the direct flow of the air coming in the opening. This was causing too much turbulence for the intake air. Last I saw on a post of his on freshalloy.com, he was creating an "airbox" essentially, to help keep direct airflow off the intake.
